Six-year agreement to transform MasOrange's IT estate with hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence

MADRID, November 27, 2024 — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, and MasOrange, the largest telecommunications operator in Spain by number of customers, signed a six-year agreement to modernize the technological environment that supports the operator’s business. This will enable MasOrange’s employees, collaborators and customers to develop a new generation of applications and services on a flexible, security-rich platform.

The recent merger of MASMOVIL and Orange created the opportunity to integrate and modernize the new company’s combined computing environment. It also made it possible to incorporate new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and hybrid cloud computing, to create a more powerful platform for MasOrange to drive innovation that will enhance the customer experience. For example, Kyndryl will collaborate with MasOrange in the construction of an open architectural platform that will allow it to leverage investments in technology and talent to develop and offer new services to customers in private and public organizations.

“We look forward to working with MasOrange to create an advanced technological platform on which to build innovation-forward digital services for its customers using the most modern 5G network in Spain,” said David Soto, President of Kyndryl Spain and Portugal.

Under the agreement, Kyndryl’s advisory services, Kyndryl Consult, will work with MasOrange’s team in executing its modernization strategy. MasOrange will use Kyndryl Bridge, the company’s AI-powered open integration platform that offers end-to-end observability into a company’s entire IT estate, to enable greater automation, compliance with local and global regulatory standards, and better measurement of energy usage. The agreement will also enhance MasOrange’s operational security and resilience, which will help the operator combat cyberattacks and comply with industry regulations.

Finally, MasOrange’s new platform is born with efficiency and sustainability at its core. With Kyndryl Bridge, the company can manage its IT operations and energy usage, aligning with a key principle that fits naturally with MasOrange’s commitment to being respectful of the environment, reducing its carbon footprint and fighting climate change.
