PARIS, March 12, 2024 — Pompac Développement group has extended its collaboration with Kyndryl, the world's largest IT infrastructure services provider, for an additional five years to modernize its IT environment. For the past 10 years, Kyndryl has been designing and managing Pompac Développement's IT infrastructure, which supports its strategic operations, including logistics and billing for the group's warehouses and stores.
Founded in 2014, Pompac Développement is a group of companies specializing in trading in the heating, electrical and building materials universe, and via its Espace Aubade banner, in the bathroom universe. The group supports its subsidiaries throughout most of France in IT strategy, logistics and the execution of IT and digital processes. Based in Strasbourg, Pompac Développement defines and supports the IT development of its subsidiaries, which employ around 6,000 people and have some 350 sales outlets, with stable growth of around 15% a year.
As part of this new agreement, and to manage this growth and prepare for the future, Pompac Développement has embarked on a strategy to modernize its IT environment. The IT transformation will enable the company to handle larger volumes of data, take advantage of cutting-edge technologies and consolidate its IT infrastructure to make it more efficient and reliable. Kyndryl will implement managed services from consulting to IS management to maintain optimal operational conditions. Kyndryl will also implement a new disaster recovery plan as part of a cyber resilience strategy.
A completely redesigned information system with cutting-edge technologies
Kyndryl's teams have deployed a Private Power Cloud (P.P.C.) model, a cost-effective, flexible solution that allows companies to respond to peak demand and reduce energy consumption of their IT infrastructures. Other models require the purchase of a license per processor, but companies like Pompac Développement rarely use all their processors at the same time. More cost-effective, this solution enables companies to respond to peak demand and reduces the energy consumption of their IT infrastructures. These infrastructures are hosted in Kyndryl's datacenters in the Paris region.
