MALAGA and MADRID, December 6, 2023 — Unicaja Banco, one of Spain's leading financial institutions, and Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, have announced the signing of a long-term contract for the renewal and comprehensive management of the bank's technology platform. The agreement also aims to improve efficiencies through operational excellence, as well as accelerate services for its customers.
Kyndryl will help Unicaja Banco to evolve technologically by creating new processes, procedures and tools that allow for increased automation and standardization of their IT services. Under the contract, Kyndryl will also help transform the bank’s operations and the infrastructure of its data processing center, which is headquartered in the city of Ronda, in Malaga.
The agreement will also allow the bank to adopt a hybrid cloud strategy. Kyndryl will create a private cloud and manage its interface with leading public cloud providers. This new architecture will provide greater agility to respond to new market challenges and enable the bank to offer its customers the latest advances in digital banking.
"In working with Kyndryl, Unicaja Banco guarantees to be at the forefront of the technological infrastructure that supports the bank and a secure and permanently updated evolution. This alliance will undoubtedly contribute to achieving operational excellence and process improvement," said Isidro Rubiales, CEO of Unicaja Banco.

We are very proud that they trust the talent and experience of Kyndryl's professionals for the modernization of their technology that will allow them to obtain efficiencies in their operations and better services for their customers," said David Soto, President of Kyndryl Spain and Portugal.
The agreement demonstrates Kyndryl's ability as a technology partner to manage, transform and modernize organizations' mission-critical environments. It also gives the bank peace of mind, as it includes the ability to deal with unforeseen contingencies.
